Our goats are woven into the everyday life of Bloomstone Farm, from the pasture to the milk pail and, eventually, into the soaps we make by hand. They are a beloved part of our family, and life on the farm would feel a little quieter without their curious faces, gentle personalities, and familiar voices greeting us each day.
We raise and milk our girls here on the farm, and we also enjoy sharing them in the show rings. As members of the ADGA Dairy Herd Improvement program, we carefully track their milk production and quality, helping us make thoughtful breeding decisions as we build a herd that is not only wonderful to live and work with, but capable of producing abundant, high-quality milk year after year. For us, raising goats is about more than the milk they give or the ribbons they earn—it’s about building a healthy, productive herd with the kind of temperament and longevity we want to carry forward for generations.
Our Nigerian Dwarf herd is a mother-daughter endeavor, born from a shared love of these wonderful little goats. Emma began showing in 2025, quickly falling in love with the world of showmanship and the partnership she shares with her goats. Lexi joined her in the show ring in late 2026, bringing a passion for the other side of the herd—thoughtful breeding and raising goats with beautiful dairy character, sweet temperaments, easy-to-milk udders, and the longevity to serve their families for years to come.
Together, we are building a herd that we hope will be equally at home in the show ring, in the milk pail, and at the heart of a family homestead. Our goal is simple: to raise exceptional Nigerian Dwarf goats that are beautiful, productive, kind, and a joy to live with.
There’s something new taking shape here at Bloomstone Farm, and we can’t wait to share it with you. In the spring of 2027, we’ll be opening our little raw goat milk dairy right here on the farm, along with a small self-serve farm stand. What began with a few goats and a love for making things by hand is slowly growing into something we’ve dreamed about for a long time—a place where the things we raise, make, grow, and create can all come together.
The farm stand will carry our handmade farm-to-skin skincare, fresh goat milk fudge, seasonal farm goods, pottery made by our kids, and other little things created here on the farm. We’re still dreaming up all the details, but that’s part of the fun. It will be simple, personal, and very much Bloomstone—a little corner of the farm where you can stop by, take something home, and know exactly where it came from. We’ll be sharing more as we work toward opening our doors in spring 2027, and we’d love for you to follow along as we build it.
* All goats in our herd (Over 6 months of age) are annually tested for CAE, CL, and Johnes through UBRL. The Last test was on 6/11/26 and everyone was negative. If you would like to see the results of these tests please don't hesitate to reach out.
